Ukraine's trade envoy resigns to study at Stanford University

First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Maksym Nefyodov will perform the trade envoy's duties.

Ukraine's Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade and Trade Envoy Nataliya Mykolska has filed a letter of resignation, as she has plans to study at Stanford University.

"She's leaving to study at Stanford University. Two and a half years of work with Nataliya Mykolska was a very qualitative period in terms of efficiency. These were new markets in Africa, Europe, America, and Asia. These were joint trade commissions, as well as an export strategy and new approaches to shaping Ukraine's trade," First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv said at a government meeting on Wednesday, August 22.

In the meantime, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Maksym Nefyodov will perform the Ukrainian trade envoy's duties, the official said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in commodities was estimated at US$1.423 billion in January-April 2018, which was 1.5 times up from a $968.6 billion deficit year-over-year.
