A U.S.-based company PayPal, operator of a worldwide online payments system, has allowed money remittances from the United States to Ukraine.

The service is available through an electronic funds transfer provider Xoom, which PayPal acquired in November 2015, according to head of the project office for the introduction of PayPal in Ukraine, Ilya Kenigshtein.

"Earlier, Xoom allowed transferring funds to 44 countries, without Ukraine on the list. Starting today, Xoom allows remittances from the U.S. to 130 countries, including Ukraine," Kenigshtein wrote on Facebook.

A Cash Pickup service will operate in Ukraine, ensuring that recipients are able to get their money from one of the partnering banks, including Oschadbank, PrivatBank, Universa Bank, Pravex Bank, and Ukrgasbank.

Kenigshtein also reported that the service allows transfers of up to USD 2,999 per day but no more than $6,000 within 30 days.

Said limits can be extended by filling in the relevant form on the website, upon providing a package of documents required.
