Poroshenko enacts law on VAT refunds for exports of soybeans and rapeseeds

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a bill into law to amend the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding value-added tax (VAT) refunds for soybeans and rapeseeds exports to those producers who independently supply their farm produce abroad.

The bill was passed by the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, on May 22, 2018.

The status of respective law No. 7403-d on the parliament's website is designated as the one that has been "returned with the president's signature."

The law foresees VAT refunds from the budget for exports of soybeans and rapeseeds to those agri-businesses that have grown the crops.

However, the law retains the suspension of VAT refunds for traders when they export soybeans from September 1, 2018 until December 31, 2021, and rapeseeds from January 1, 2020 until December 31, 2021.
