Ukraine's foreign debt repayments in 2018 estimated at US$3.2 bln

In total, Ukraine is to pay UAH 1.483 trillion ($52.79 billion) to foreign creditors from 2018 to 2045 inclusively.

Ukraine's forthcoming payments on foreign state debt before the end of 2018 are estimated at UAH 90.98 billion or US$3.24 billion at the current rate of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

In particular, UAH 50.14 billion ($1.78 billion) will be allocated from the national budget for the repayment of principal debt, while UAH 40.84 billion ($4.8 billion) will be funneled into debt servicing, according to the debt payments schedule under agreements being in force as of August 27, 2018.

The schedule is available on the Finance Ministry's website.

The repayment and servicing of foreign debt will amount to UAH 143.54 billion ($5.1 billion) in 2019 and UAH 169.92 billion ($6.04 billion) in 2020, it said.

UNIAN memo. Ukraine's state and government-guaranteed debt, estimated in U.S. dollars, shrank by 0.8%, to $75.71 billion in January-July 2018, while the debt in the hryvnia equivalent declined by 5.4%, to UAH 2.026 trillion ($72 billion).

Ukraine's total international reserves as of August 1, 2018, amounted to $17.749 billion, which was 5.6% down from the figure as of January 1, 2018.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) expects to receive about $5 billion by the end of 2018. It includes a new disbursement from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), loans from the World Bank and the European Union, as well as funds to be raised from the placement of eurobonds.
