Ukraine's Cabinet to raise minimum wages from Jan 1, 2019 – Rozenko

The minimum wage is expected to reach UAH 4,200 ($149) next year, the official said.

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko has assured that the Cabinet of Ministers will raise minimum wages in the country from January 1, 2019.

"I hope that Ukraine's economy will grow by 2.5-3%, which gives us grounds to say that we will have a resource next year to raise pensions and wages. I can already guarantee that the minimum wage will be increased from January 1, 2019... Social standards will grow as well, although we would like them to improve faster," he told a Ukrainian TV channel on August 31.

The minimum wage is expected to reach UAH 4,200 ($149) next year, he added.

As UNIAN reported, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman earlier said that the Cabinet planned to ensure the growth of the average wage in Ukraine to UAH 10,000 ($356) in 2018.
