As UNIAN reported, the volume of forthcoming payments of Ukraine on its external public debt until the end of 2018 is UAH 90.98 billion, or $3.24 billion at the current rate of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The volume of state and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine in January-July 2018 decreased by 0.8% in dollar terms - down to $75.71 billion dollars – and 5.4% in hryvnia equivalent, down to UAH 2.026 trillion.

UNIAN memo. Ukraine's state and government-guaranteed debt, estimated in U.S. dollars, shrank by 0.8%, to $75.71 billion in January-July 2018, while the debt in the hryvnia equivalent declined by 5.4%, to UAH 2.026 trillion ($72 billion).

Ukraine's total international reserves as of August 1, 2018, amounted to $17.749 billion, which was 5.6% down from the figure as of January 1, 2018.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) expects to receive about $5 billion by the end of 2018. It includes a new disbursement from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), loans from the World Bank and the European Union, as well as funds to be raised from the placement of eurobonds.

As UNIAN reported earlier, to continue cooperation with the IMF, Ukraine should review the deficit of the national budget in line with the benchmarks of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and ensure the transition to a market-oriented algorithm to set gas prices for households.

In March 2015, the IMF approved a four-year EFF loan program for Ukraine with $17.5 billion in disbursements. Under the program, Ukraine has received only four disbursements from the Fund to the tune of $8.7 billion due to the slow implementation of the agreed reforms. The program is expiring in March 2019. However, the National Bank of Ukraine and the Finance Ministry expect to receive $1.9 billion from the IMF in 2018.
