More than 500 companies are allowed selling natural gas to industrial consumers in Ukraine, Naftogaz of Ukraine wrote on Twitter Friday.

According to Naftogaz, rules on the "gas for industry" market are transparent and understandable to all.

"The world's leading companies compete for the Ukrainian market. It is possible to trade under the standard European EFET contracts," Naftogaz reported.

Also, Naftogaz noted that for up to 1,000 days, traders are allowed storing gas in Ukrainian underground storage facilities without customs clearance.

As UNIAN reported, Naftogaz from today, September 1, is raising the minimum price for natural gas for industrial consumers entering into contracts and additional agreements with Naftogaz starting August 30, by 15.6% - from UAH 10,599.6 to UAH 12,249.6 per 1,000 cubic meters, compared to the minimum gas price from September 1 for contracts that were concluded with the NAC before August 29 (inclusive).

On October 1, 2015 a new law on the natural gas market came into force in Ukraine, depriving the National Energy and Utilities Regulation Commission of the right to set prices of natural gas for industrial consumers.
