Operating banks' assets expand by US$551 mln in July

There were 82 operating banks as of the beginning of August 2018.

Assets of banks operating in Ukraine expanded by 1.2%, or UAH 15.569 billion (US$551 million) in July 2018, to UAH 1.315 trillion (US$46.5 billion), the National Bank of Ukraine has said.

The statistics do not include insolvent banks' data.

Since the beginning of the year, operating banks' assets shrank by 1.4%, or UAH 19.245 billion (US$681 million).

Banks' liabilities grew by 1.1% in July 2018, but fell by 0.3% in January-July 2018, to UAH 1.169 trillion (US$41.4 billion).

Banks' capital rose by 1.6% in July 2018, however, shrank by 9.9% in January-July 2018, to UAH 145.1 billion (US$5.14 billion).

As of the beginning of August 2018, there were 82 operating banks, their number has remained unchanged since the beginning of July 2018 and January 2018.

As UNIAN reported earlier, operating banks' assets in 2017 grew by 6.4%, or UAH 80 billion, to UAH 1.336 trillion.
