National budget for 2019 should be balanced, fair and realistic – PM Groysman

It's time to once again demonstrate that the Cabinet of Ministers and the parliament are able to make responsible decisions, Groysman said.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said the national budget of Ukraine for 2019 should be balanced, fair, and realistic.

"It must be balanced, it must be fair, and it must be realistic, because we will be responsible for each figure. I think it's time that we once again demonstrate that we are able to make responsible decisions, and these responsible decisions will positively affect the lives of Ukrainian citizens," he said during the opening of the ninth session of the Verkhovna Rada's eighth convocation.

As UNIAN reported, the state budget of Ukraine in January-August 2018 received UAH 607.470 billion in revenues, which is by UAH 18.984 billion, or 3%, below the target for the said period.

UNIAN memo. The national budget of Ukraine for 2018 sets a target of UAH 917.9 billion ($34.2 billion) in revenue and UAH 991.7 billion ($36.9 billion) in expenditures. The budget deficit is capped at UAH 80.6 billion ($3 billion), or 2.4% of GDP.
