Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in October will begin an active fight against shadow employment across the country.

Presenting the draft order "On measures aimed at de-shadowing employment relations" at a government meeting on Wednesday, he said the document says employers within a month's term shall be informed of the penalties envisaged for failing to register employees.

"In a month, in October, we will begin implementing all norms provided by law to protect the rights of working people and restore social justice. Nobody gave anyone the right to leave people without pensions," he said.

Groysman said non-registered workers were applying to the Cabinet on the issue, as well as employers who comply with employment legislation.

"Dozens, hundreds of people at enterprises keep working unregistered; some employers take away their right to a decent pension in the future and to work legally. We are seeing thousands of complaints that employers despise them and do not intend to register them legally. We have appeals from legal employers that this is inadmissible," he said.
