The consumption of coal by TPPs and CHPPs grew by 6.3% in July, to 2.157 million tonnes y-o-y.
Thermal power plants (TPPs) and central heating and power plant (CHPPs) of Ukraine in January-July 2018 increased coal consumption by 17.4%, to 15.2 million tonnes year-over-year.
In particular, the consumption of coal by TPPs and CHPPs grew by 6.3% in July, to 2.157 million tonnes y-o-y, according to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

As UNIAN reported, Ukrainian TPPs and CHPPs consumed 6 million tonnes of anthracite coal and 18.7 million tonnes of gas in 2017.
The ministry forecasts a decrease in the consumption of anthracite coal in Ukraine by 20% in 2018, to 4.8 million tonnes.
