Ukraine boosts poultry exports by almost 9% in seven months

Ukraine is approaching the world's leading poultry meat producers.

Ukraine boosted exports of poultry meat and offal to 184,600 tonnes January through July 2018, which was 8.9% up year-over-year.

Today Ukraine ranks 7th in terms of exports of broiler meat among the countries that sell this product abroad, the press service of Ukraine's Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has said.

The largest importers are Japan, Mexico, Iraq, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, and Angola.

In particular, Ukrainian products are exported to 80 countries, and four new countries have been added in 2018, namely Albania, Ghana, Hong Kong, and Morocco.

Ukraine is approaching the world's leading poultry meat producers. So, in the seven months of the current year, agricultural enterprises sold 809,600 tonnes of meat, which was 5% more compared to the same period last year.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine in 2017 exported 271,320 tonnes of poultry meat to the amount of US$389.64 million, according to the country's State Fiscal Service. As of August 2018, some 836 Ukrainian enterprises were licensed to export food products of animal origin.
