Ukraine's parliament to consider draft budget for next year on Oct 18 or Oct 19

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, is to consider the draft national budget for 2019 on October 18 or October 19.

"This bill is to pass its first reading tentatively on October 18 or October 19," head of the parliamentary budget committee Andriy Pavelko said at a meeting of parliamentary faction leaders and chairmen of the parliamentary committees on Monday, October 1.

According to him, October 1 was the last day when lawmakers could introduce their proposals as for the draft law.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's parliament on September 21 accepted the government-prepared 2019 budget for consideration. It is based on a macroeconomic forecast with real GDP growth by 3% amid inflation of 7.4% and provides revenue at UAH 1.008 trillion (about US$36 billion) and expenditures at UAH 1.094 trillion (US$39 billion). The budget deficit is set at UAH 89.989 billion US$3.21 billion), or 2.3% of GDP, the national debt is capped at UAH 2.449 trillion (US$87.5 billion).
