Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman promised a "systematic increase" in pensions from March 1, 2019.

Speaking at the Freedom of Speech panel show on ICTV, commenting on the next year's draft state budget,  the head of government said: “We are raising pensions, but I'd rather Ukrainian pensioners get even more money. As of March 1, we will index pensions, and there will be a systemic increase, annually. But complex challenges can't be tackled instantly,” said Groysman.

According to the prime minister, his two major tasks at the moment are on the one hand, to prevent the collapse of the Ukrainian economy over non-fulfillment of obligations to international partners and on the other, to "protect people." Groysman noted that to this end, a system of subsidies is being developed, which would compensate for risks to vulnerable population groups.

"In 2017, we started the process of changing the minimum wage. By doing this, we're pushing growth, in particular, of the average salary. Today, experiencing staff shortages, employers are already increasing it. This means that in December, we will be able to have an average salary of at least UAH 10,000,” the prime minister said.
