China is among Ukraine's ten largest trading partners.
Ukraine and China are planning to double trade to US$10 billion while considering new opportunities for cooperation in agriculture, the energy sector, construction (primarily infrastructure facilities), and other areas.
Such plans were announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman at a meeting with China's Ambassador to Ukraine Du Wei, the Ukrainian Cabinet's press service said.

Relations between the two countries become deeper every year and there are more spheres of mutual interest, the Ukrainian prime minister said.
During the meeting, Groysman thanked the Ambassador for the ambulance cars China has recently donated to Ukraine, and expressed hope that an international exhibition, China International Import Expo 2018, would be successful. Ukrainian delegates are planning to take part in the event.
As reported by UNIAN, China is among Ukraine's ten largest trading partners. Food is a major export-oriented staple in Ukraine's trade with China.
At the beginning of December 2017, Ukraine and China signed a road map for the implementation of the initiatives of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), or the Silk Road Economic Belt, and the 21st-century Maritime Silk Road, designed to strengthen economic cooperation between Europe and Asia. China's One Belt, One Road Initiative involves the development of trade relations between China and Europe.
Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Du Wei says that this project cannot be implemented without Ukraine. In future, Silk Road projects will let Ukraine bypass Russia's transit restrictions on shipments to the countries of Central Asia.
