Electricity exports from Ukraine to grow in 2019 – Energy Ministry

Ukraine is expected to increase exports to Eastern Europe by 3.8% to 5.43 billion kWh.

The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine has compiled and approved the Forecast Balance of Electricity for 2019, according to which an increase in electricity exports from Ukraine is projected at 5.3% to 6.42 billion kWh in the next year compared to the Forecast Balance for the current year of June 15, 2018.

According to the document, in 2019, Ukraine is expected to increase exports to the countries of Eastern Europe by 3.8% to 5.43 billion kWh, including to Poland by 6.2% to 1.44 billion kWh compared with the forecast for 2018, the ministry's press service reports.

It is also reported electricity exports to Moldova will be increased by 13.6% to 1.08 billion kWh in 2019.

According to the ministry, Ukraine will not import electricity in 2019.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2017, Ukraine increased electricity exports by 28.6% against 2016, to 5.166 billion kWh. At the same time, revenue for electricity supplies for the reporting period were up by 55%, to $236 million.
