Ukraine's foreign debt repayments in Q4 2018 estimated at US$610 mln

The repayment and servicing of foreign debt will amount to UAH 165.395 billion ($5.849 billion) in 2019.

Ukraine's payments on foreign state debt in the fourth quarter of 2018 (Q4) are estimated at UAH 17.247 billion or US$610 million at the current forex rate of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

In particular, UAH 13.714 billion ($485 million) will be allocated from the national budget for the repayment of principal debt, while UAH 3.533 billion ($125 million) will be funneled into debt servicing, according to the debt payments schedule under agreements being in force as of October 1, 2018.

According to the data, since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has paid to external creditors UAH 74.096 billion or $2.620 billion at the NBU current forex rate. Taking into account the upcoming payments, the annual payment will amount to $3.230 billion.

The repayment and servicing of foreign debt will amount to UAH 165.395 billion ($5.849 billion) in 2019, including UAH 53.590 billion ($1.895 billion) in Q1, UAH 47.672 billion ($1.686 billion) in Q2; UAH 56.459 billion ($1.997 billion) in Q3, and UAH 7.673 billion ($271 million) in Q4.

The upcoming external debt payments in 2020 are estimated at UAH 169.902 billion, or $6.009 billion at the NBU current forex rate.

UNIAN memo. Ukraine's state and government-guaranteed debt, estimated in U.S. dollars, shrank by 1.9%, to $74.85 billion in January-August 2018, while the debt in the hryvnia equivalent declined by 1.2%, to UAH 2.117 trillion.
