Shadowing wages leads to the loss of huge amounts of taxes by local budgets.
Deputy Chairman of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Yevhen Bambizov has said over 30% Ukrainians get under-the-table wages.

"According to the State Statistics Service, eight million out of 26 million working Ukrainians get under-the-table wages partially or fully, i.e. the scale is very substantial," he told journalists, according to Ukraine's weekly newspaper Zerkalo Nedeli (Mirror Weekly).
He said inspections of business entities for the payment of under-the-table wages had showed 46% had such violations.
Shadowing wages leads to the loss of huge amounts of taxes by local budgets, the official added.
"In turn, the penalty for one unregistered employee is UAH 112,000," Bambizov said.
