Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced Ukrainian patrol police on October 8, 2018, started using TruCam laser speed guns at road locations of frequent collisions due to speeding.

"TruCam portable devices will be used only on road sections with corresponding traffic signs. The list of such locations will be publicly available," the ministry wrote on Facebook on October 8.
Patrol vehicles with flashing blue beacons will also be present at such locations, it said.
At the same time, First Deputy Head of the National Police's Patrol Police Department Oleksiy Biloshytskyi says that during the first week patrol police will use TruCam only in a trial mode and will not punish drivers who have violated the traffic rules.
"I'd like to emphasize that during the first week [from Monday, October 8], the patrol police will use this system in a pilot mode, without punishing drivers, because the main task of the police is to prevent violations and save citizens' life rather than to punish. In future, traffic violators will be brought to administrative responsibility in accordance with the current legislation," he wrote on Facebook on October 8.
