Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe according to data from the new report of the International Monetary Fund, said Volodymyr Kompaniets, an economist who manages a private investment fund in the U.S. stock market.

“Updated infographics, which show right away the economic situation in Ukraine and where we are compared with other countries. In the IMF's new report on GDP per capita, we were bypassed by Moldova, while we bypassed Papua New Guinea,” Kompaniets wrote.

He noted that in the new report, the Fund not only showed an increased  GDP in Ukraine, it also revised its GDP assessment for other countries.

The official salary in Moldova was also significantly higher than in Ukraine. Thus, the average official salary in Moldova in the second quarter of 2018 was $375.82 (6369.8 lei), while in Ukraine it was $325.53 (UAH 8,529).
