Naftogaz expected to pay almost US$4.6 bln to budget in 2019

Ukrainian gas giant NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is expected to pay UAH 129 billion, or nearly US$4.6 billion, to the national budget in 2019.

"The total amount of planned [budget] payments is almost UAH 130 billion," Naftogaz's Chief Commercial Officer Yuriy Vitrenko said at a press conference.

This figure is stipulated in the national budget for 2019, which was voted by parliament in the first reading.

Of the amount, UAH 25.1 billion, or US$894.5 million, will be paid as dividends, oil and gas royalties are projected at UAH 30.5 billion, or US$1.09 billion, and corporate profit tax payments at UAH 20.2 billion, or US$720 million.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman announced on October 19 that 90% of Naftogaz's profit would be funneled into the budget.

In 2017, Naftogaz paid more than UAH 100 billion, or US$3.56 billion, in taxes and dividends to the national budget. Last year, the state holding boosted its net profit by 48%, to UAH 39.3 billion, or US$1.4 billion.

UNIAN memo. NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is the largest state-run vertically integrated oil and gas holding whose subsidiaries account for about 90% of oil and gas production in Ukraine. Naftogaz develops oil and gas fields, produces crude oil and natural gas. Its core business is also transportation and trade in fuel through its own network of filling stations.
