As UNIAN reported earlier, Irish low-cost airline Ryanair on September 3, 2018, handled its first flight from Ukraine. The airlines' first plane arrived in the Ukrainian capital at about 14:20 Kyiv time and departed at 14:55 Kyiv time from Kyiv's Boryspil Airport for Berlin's Schönefeld.

CEO of Ryanair Michael O'Leary, the general director of Boryspil Airport and the general director of Lviv Airport in early March 2018 signed a contract on the terms of service of Ryanair at the airports.

It first was announced that that Ryanair would open 15 destinations from Ukraine in October: 10 flights from Kyiv and five flights from Lviv with an initial ticket price of 10 euros, while the average fare is 40 euros.

Later it became known that the first Ryanair flights from Ukraine would start even earlier – from the beginning of September en route between Kyiv and Berlin.

The airline further announced the number of its destinations from Ukraine would grow to 18.
