Ukraine's revenue from agriexports estimated at $13 bln in Jan-Sept

Ukrainian foreign trade turnover of agricultural products amounted to $16.8 million.

Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olha Trofimtseva says Ukraine in January-September 2018 exported agricultural products worth US$12.9 billion, some 27.8% less year-over-year (y-o-y).

"Ukrainian foreign trade turnover of agricultural products amounted to $16.8 million. At the same time, Ukrainian exports amounted to $12.9 billion," the ministry's press service quotes Trofimtseva as saying.

According to the official, the top three staples of Ukrainian farm produce and food exports remain grain crops (37%), sunflower oils (24.1%), and oilseeds (10.3%).

Trofimtseva added the volume of exports of rapeseed increased by 15.2%, meat and offal of poultry – by 29.3%, eggs – by 73.9%, rapeseed oil or mustard – by 83.9%, nuts – by 79.4%, chocolate and other products with cocoa – by 21.3%, soybean oil – by 18.3%, margarine – by 31.9%, sugar confectionery – by 20%, butter and other fats produced from milk – by 16.3%, bakery, confectionery products – by 12%, and natural grape wines – by 46.5%.

Key buyers in the regional export structure are the Asian countries with a share of 43.5%, the European Union (31.8%), and the African states (13%).

Trofimtseva also said the top three Asian countries importing Ukrainian products are India, China, and Turkey, while the three leaders among European countries importing Ukrainian goods are the Netherlands, Poland, and Italy. Among African countries, Ukrainian agricultural products are mostly bought by Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco.

As UNIAN reported earlier, total revenue from exports of Ukrainian agrarian products in 2017 rose by 16% to almost $18 billion.
