Coal consumption at TPPs and CHPPs in September alone fell by 15.1%, to 1.92 million tonnes y-o-y.
Ukraine's thermal power plants (TPP) and combined heat and power plants (CHPPs) in January-September 2018 boosted coal consumption by 7.1% year-over-year (y-o-y) to 18.82 million tonnes.
In particular, coal consumption at TPPs and CHPPs in September alone fell by 15.1%, to 1.92 million tonnes y-o-y, according to the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian TPPs and CHPPs in 2017 consumed 6 million tonnes of anthracite coal and 18.7 million tonnes of gas coal.
The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry forecasts a 20% reduction in consumption of anthracite in 2018, to 4.8 million tonnes.
