Ukraine's claims to Gazprom in courts already exceed $12 bln

The claims of the National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine to the Russian energy giant Gazprom in the framework of new proceedings launched by the Stockholm Arbitration on revising the gas transit tariff have already exceeded US$12 billion.

“Our claims have already exceeded $12 billion. Perhaps we will not win everything, but if there is no treachery in Ukraine, we will win significant sums,” Naftogaz Chief Commercial Officer Yuriy Vitrenko wrote on Facebook Monday, November 5.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in early July 2018, Naftogaz filed a new lawsuit with the Stockholm Arbitration requesting a revision of the tariff for the transit of natural gas under a contract with Gazprom.

Naftogaz is demanding a revision of the tariff from March 2018 to the end of 2019 and has tentatively estimated its monetary claims at about $15.6 billion before interest.
