Gas stations in Ukraine cut petrol prices, increase diesel fuel prices on Nov 6

The average price of A-95 petrol was UAH 32.79, or $1.17, per liter on the morning of November 6.

Retail prices of petrol at gas stations across Ukraine decreased in the past day, while those of diesel fuel went up; average prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which is used as automobile fuel in Ukraine, remained steadily high.

On the morning of November 6, the average price of A-95 petrol at filling stations was UAH 32.79, or $1.17, per liter, ranging from UAH 30.69 to UAH 34.89 ($1.10-$1.25). That is, the difference is up to UAH 4.2 ($0.15), according to the TV news service TSN.ua.

Drivers can buy diesel fuel for UAH 32.39, or $1.16, per liter on average. The prices at gas stations vary from UAH 30.99 to UAH 33.79 ($1.11-$1.21).

The average price of LPG is set at UAH 14.67, or $0.52, per liter. Gas stations sell liquefied petroleum gas from UAH 12.24 to UAH 17.09 ($0.43-$0.61) per liter, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian national budget may see UAH 10 billion (US$355.5 million) in loss due to shadow gas stations. At least 1,500 gas stations operate in violation of legislation. Sales of fuel through illegal gas stations that work without permits are estimated at about 40,000 tonnes per month. The shadow market in the diesel fuel segment reaches 20%, while that of liquefied gas accounts for 30% to 50%.
