Ukraine will display its military products in Jakarta, Indonesia, on November 7-10.
Director General of state-run Ukroboronprom Pavlo Bukin says that the U.S. sanctions imposed on buyers of Russian weapons open up new prospects for Ukrainian manufacturers in the market of Southeast Asia.

"Indonesia is an important partner of [Ukraine's state-run military-industrial concern] Ukroboronprom. There are major developments in a number of areas that have the potential for successful bilateral projects. Our prospects in the region of Southeast Asia, in particular in Indonesia, are significantly enhanced, given the transformation of this market due to the U.S. sanctions against buyers of Russian weapons," the concern's press service quoted Bukin as saying on the eve of Indo Defense 2018 Expo & Forum in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. "They are provided for by the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act [CAATSA]."
According to the official, Ukraine is now able to meet the demand of the Southeast Asian countries for the supply of certain types of weapons, as well as for maintenance, repair and modernization of existing military equipment.
"We are ready to offer our Indonesian partners joint projects in the aviation, armored and shipbuilding industries, as well as in the field of high-precision weapons. Our defense industry complex is adapted to the Indonesian market and military technologies that are used there. That is why Ukroboronprom actively participates in this prestigious international exhibition, where important bilateral negotiations are planned to be held," Bukin added.

Ukroboronprom plans to present the major developments of Ukraine's defense enterprises, as well as hold a number of meetings with potential buyers of Ukrainian weapons and foreign suppliers of advanced technologies, especially in the field of ammunition and electronics.
