The price of Olivye ("Olivier") Salad, also known as Russian Salad, which is a traditional Eastern European specialty during New Year's holiday season, has increased.

Prices of the ingredients of this salad have grown by more than a quarter within a year, according to a "Snidanok z 1+1" morning TV show.
The Ukrainian Retail Suppliers Association estimates that the salad rose in price by UAH 36 (US$1.3) in 2018 against 2017. In particular, less than 1.5 months prior to the New Year's eve, the ingredients for three kilograms of the salad cost UAH 166 ($5.9).
Their price a year ago, in 2017, was UAH 130 ($4.6).
As UNIAN reported earlier, inflation in Ukraine in October 2018 was estimated at 9.5% year-over-year, accelerating from 8.9% in September 2018.
The National Bank predicts inflation by the end of 2018 at the level of 10.9%, while the government's forecast is set at 9%.
The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank expect this year's inflation in Ukraine to reach 9% and 10%, respectively.
