Retail trade turnover in Ukraine up 5.4% in Jan-Oct

Retail sales grew most in Luhansk, Kyiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, and Sumy regions.

In January-October 2018, retail trade turnover in Ukraine increased by 5.4% compared to the same period in 2017 (in comparable prices) to UAH 740.637 billion ($26.7 billion), according to the website of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

According to the report, the retail trade turnover increased most in the following regions: Luhansk - by 23%, to UAH 3.45 billion ($12.4 million); Kyiv - by 11%, to UAH 40.9 billion ($1.47 billion); Poltava - by 11.5%, to UAH 15.56 billion ($560.9 million); Zhytomyr - by 8.3%, to UAH 11.3 billion ($407.3 million); and Sumy - by 8.3%, to UAH 9.3 billion ($335.3 million).

The State Statistics Service says, the retail trade turnover in October 2018 increased by 2% compared to September, and moved 5% up against October 2017.

In January-October 2018, the volume of retail turnover of retailers amounted to UAH 532.11 billion ($19.1 billion), which is 5% over the figure for January-October 2017.

As UNIAN reported, retail turnover in 2017 increased by 8.8% compared with 2016 (in comparable prices) - up to UAH 816.553 billion ($29.4 billion).
