World Bank to consider allocation of $750 mln guarantee to Ukraine in Dec

The World Bank has included the issue of providing Ukraine with a $750 million financial guarantee on the agenda of its December 18 board meeting.

The final parameters of the agreement will be determined after approval by the World Bank Board of Directors, according to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

It is noted the guarantee of the World Bank will support Ukraine in the implementation of reforms, in particular, in the financial sector and management of state banks, as well as ensure their further implementation.

The guarantee will be valid for 10 years and will allow Ukraine to receive international financing on more favorable conditions than from independently raising funds from the market.

In the past two years, the World Bank Group has provided Ukraine with about $4.7 billion in budget financial assistance, investment operations, and private sector financing.
