Ukraine sees US$221 mln budget deficit in Jan-Oct

The country's consolidated budget over the period under review saw a surplus of UAH 14.425 billion ($517 million).

The deficit of Ukraine's national budget in January-October 2018 was estimated at UAH 6.167 billion, or US$221 million, against a surplus at UAH 1.401 billion, or $50 million, year-over-year (y-o-y).

The deficit figure turned out to be UAH 1.4 billion ($50) up from the preliminary data of the Finance Ministry dated November 8, according to which the budget deficit for the said period was UAH 4.8 billion ($172 million), according to Ukraine's Treasury Service.

The country's consolidated budget over the period under review saw a surplus of UAH 14.425 billion ($517 million), which was 50% down on the surplus of UAH 31.232 billion ($1.1 billion) y-o-y.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the deficit of Ukraine's national budget in 2017 was estimated at UAH 47.850 billion, or $1.7 billion, which was 33.4% down against 2016.

The deficit of the national budget of Ukraine for 2018 is capped at UAH 80.6 billion ($2.9 billion), or 2.4% of GDP.
