Average wage in Ukraine grows to US$328 in Oct

The average nominal salary of a full-time employee grew by 1.9% in Ukraine in October 2018 against September 2018, while rising by 24.9% year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 9,218, or US$328.

Real wages in Ukraine in October 2018 increased by 14.2% y-o-y, the State Statistics Service reported.

The average nominal salary of a full-time employee in Ukraine in October 2018 was almost 2.5 times up from the minimum wage at UAH 3,723 ($132).

As UNIAN reported earlier, the minimum wage in Ukraine grew on January 1, 2018, from UAH 3,200 (US$114) to UAH 3,723 ($132).

Ukraine's government forecasts an increase in the average wage in 2018 to UAH 10,000 ($356).

At the same time, the National Bank of Ukraine expects a slowdown in the growth of wages and salaries in Ukraine, forecasting an increase in nominal wages by 16% and by 10% (or by 7% and 5% in real hryvnias) in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
