The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 42% y-o-y.
The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-October 2018 was estimated at US$10.033 billion, which was 1.5 times up from the deficit recorded at $6.730 billion year-over-year (y-o-y).

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 42% y-o-y, to $10.694 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade in services shrank by 25%, to $561 million, according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
UNIAN memo. The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in 2017 was estimated at $2.625 billion against a surplus of $541.6 million in 2016.
However, the National Bank of Ukraine said that Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services showed a deficit of $6.848 billion in 2017, which was 25.2% up from the deficit reported in 2016.
