The Ministry of Infrastructure is confident that about a thousand such trains will run annually.
A decision was made to launch via the territory of Ukraine container trains as part of a freight railway communication between China and the European Union.
"I am glad that there is a decision to launch a container train between China and the EU," Ukraine's Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan said at a joint briefing with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Adamczyk.

It will run between China and Poland through the territory of Ukraine, according to the minister, who added that "we are convinced that the number of such trains will be about a thousand a year."
As UNIAN reported earlier, in February this year, Minister Omelyan said Ukraine and the European Union (EU) would jointly finance the "Go highway" project, which would establish a new transport corridor for China's Silk Road project.
"The EU is ready to partially finance our 'Go highway' project that will connect the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea," Omelyan said.
Last year, Ukraine has launched the project to connect four Black Sea ports in southern Ukraine and two Baltic Sea ports in northern Poland. The new transport corridor stretching for 1,746 km will cost about EUR 2 billion (about $2.4 billion). It is set to be completed within three years.
