Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych has said that in 2019, primary schools will get another UAH 1 billion (US$35.8 million) on new equipment.
"It is obvious we will not leave teachers to the mercy of fate, and further training will be conducted. Now it is very important that we get a feedback from teachers and somewhat reconsider the list of equipment recommended for purchasing," Hrynevych said, according to the ministry's press service.

At the same time, coaches from the New Ukrainian School (NUS) said there was a lot of uncertainty in the first year as to how to spend the funds provided.
"Schools in Lviv decided themselves on what to purchase. It was obvious they were not used to this amount of money and opportunities. They were confused. In addition, schools got money as late as July, and there was not enough time to make everything in time. We believe, next year things will be better," said NUS coach Anna Baiovska, director of the Lviv Dyvosvit school.
Earlier, Hrynevych explained what was included in the new-style educational space in classes: tables and desks, boards, stands, board games, shelves for storing children's works, experiments corner, seating carpet, hassocks, a library, a chair, a computer, and cabinets for the teacher.
The New Ukrainian School is the name of the reform of general secondary education, implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. First graders who went to school on September 1, 2018, are already studying under the new system.
