During martial law period, Army to receive over 200 units of new equipment – Defense minister

Before martial law period expires, Ukrainian troops are expected to have received more than 200 units of military equipment, according to Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak.

Martial law is introduced in the country for two main reasons. The first is aggression against Ukraine. The second is when there is a threat of open aggression, he told Ukraine TV channel.

“Thanks to the measures stipulated by martial law, more than 100 units of equipment arrived in the army within two weeks. By the end of martial law period, we plan to have received over 200 units of equipment,” he added.

Ukraine authorities introduced martial law in 10 regions of Ukraine From November 26 to December 26, in response to Russians seizing Ukrainian naval boats and their crew near the Kerch Strait.

Martial law may be extended if the threat to Ukraine prevails.
