As UNIAN reported earlier, the real estate tax was introduced in Ukraine in early 2015 with the entry into force of the new Tax Code. The tax is entitled to apartments with an area of over 60 square meters and houses of over 120 square meters.

The total area of residential and non-residential real estate, including its parts (garages, household structures, workshops, office premises, etc.), is subject to taxation.

In 2017, legal entities and individuals paid to local budgets over UAH 2.4 billion ($826.3 million) in taxes on real property other than land.

Taxpayers in 2018 pay a tax on immovable property that is different from the land plot for the 2017 reporting year.
