"The European Union's support is aimed at implementing Energy Efficiency Fund programs. This is the provision of non-repayable grants to OSBB [condominiums] for implementing energy efficiency measures, as well as support of OSBB in drafting applications for the Fund. We have also agreed on assistance by our German partners in training of auditors in the energy sector, who will work across Ukraine," the ministry's press service quoted Zubko as saying on December 17.

It is noted that the monetary aid will be channeled into the multi-donor fund managed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Ukraine received the first disbursement worth EUR 50 million for the Energy Efficiency Fund back in June 2018, the press service added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, in early June 2017 passed a draft law on the Energy Efficiency Fund.

In late March 2018, the Cabinet approved the provision on the Energy Efficiency Fund Supervisory Board. The procedure for its formation was set in May this year.

On September 11, the Ukrainian Ministry for Regional Development, Construction, and Housing announced a competition for the selection of independent members of the Supervisory Board.

The Cabinet of Ministers on July 25 registered the Energy Efficiency Fund as a legal entity and appointed Yulia Holovatiuk-Ungureanu acting director of the Fund.
