The Supervisory Board also made other important decisions regarding the Energy Efficiency Fund's work, it said.

"In particular, the rules for holding meetings of the Supervisory Board were approved; the procedure for the selection of the members of the Directorate and the head of the internal audit unit was determined; and the action plan for 2018 and for the first quarter of 2019 was approved. The next important step is the announcement of a competition for the selection of the management," the report said.

It is noted that four candidates have already been appointed to the Supervisory Board. "Two independent members have been selected through competitions and another two are representatives of the government. The representative of the European Union is currently expected to be appointed," it added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in early June 2017, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, passed a draft law on the Energy Efficiency Fund.

In late March 2018, the Cabinet approved the provision on the Energy Efficiency Fund Supervisory Board. The procedure for its formation was set in May this year.

The Cabinet of Ministers on July 25 registered the Energy Efficiency Fund as a legal entity and appointed Yulia Holovatiuk-Ungureanu acting director of the Fund.

The draft budget for 2018 stipulates that the total amount of investment in energy efficiency programs will amount to UAH 1.6 billion ($57.4 million), of which UAH 400 million ($14.3 million) will be allocated for the so-called "warm" loans program provided for improving energy efficiency of households, while the rest UAH 1.2 billion ($43 million) will be channeled into the Energy Efficiency Fund. The German government and the European Commission will provide part of the funds (EUR 100 million).

On December 17, a deal was signed at the 5th meeting of the Association Council between the EU and Ukraine on the allocation of EUR 54 million in a second disbursement for Ukraine's Energy Efficiency Fund.
