IMF worsens forecast for Ukraine GDP growth

The Fund has retained the forecast for economic growth in Ukraine in 2019 at 2.7%.

Ukraine's key lender, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), has worsened the forecast for real GDP growth in Ukraine this year from 3.5% to 3.3%.

The Fund has retained the forecast for Ukraine's economic growth in 2019 at 2.7%, according to an IMF report.

Further, the Fund expects a 3% GDP growth in 2020.

The IMF also raised forecasts for the average annual inflation rate from 10.9% to 11% in 2018 and from 7.3% to 9.2% in 2019.

In 2020, the average annual inflation rate is expected at 5.9%.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the growth of Ukraine's real GDP in annual terms slowed to 2.8% in the third quarter of 2018 (Q3) after a 3.8% growth in Q2 2018.

The National Bank forecasts a 3.4% GDP growth in Ukraine in 2018 amid 10.1% inflation.

The Ukrainian government expects economic growth in 2018 at 3.2% amid 9.9% inflation, while the World Bank predicts a 3.5% increase with 10% inflation.
