Ukraine boosts construction works by 6.3% in Jan-Nov

Greenfield construction projects, renovation, and technical re-equipment over the period under review accounted for 73.8% of all construction works.

Ukraine's construction firms in January-November 2018 boosted construction works by 6.3% year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 114.98 billion (US$4.2 billion).

The construction of buildings over the period under review grew by 1.3%, to UAH 54.92 billion ($2 billion). In particular, construction of residential buildings rose by 0.9%, to UAH 25.77 billion ($934.4 million), while construction of commercial buildings was up by 1.8%, to UAH 29.15 billion ($1.1 billion). Moreover, construction of engineering facilities grew by 11.3%, to UAH 60.1 billion ($2.2 billion), the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said.

Greenfield construction projects, renovation, and technical re-equipment over the period under review accounted for 73.8% of all construction works, while the share of overhauls and maintenance repairs was at 14.4% and 8.8%, respectively.

Construction firms in Kyiv alone reduced their operations by 2.3% to UAH 25.94 billion ($940.5 million), over the period under review, accounting for 22.6% of the total construction works across the country.

The State Statistics Service said the report did not include data from the temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, as well as Russian-occupied Donbas in the east of Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's construction firms in 2017 boosted construction by 20.9% against 2016, to UAH 101.1 billion ($3.7 billion).
