Ukraine's Cabinet to allocate US$1.1 bln for regional development in 2019 – PM Groysman

Another UAH 1 billion ($36.7 million) will be channeled into rural medicine, the head of government said.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says the government plans in 2019 to allocate UAH 30.2 billion (US$1.1 billion) for the development of regions.

"In 2019, it is planned to allocate UAH 14.7 billion [$539 million] for the construction and repair of local roads, UAH 7.7 billion [$282 million] to the State Regional Development Fund, UAH 4.7 billion [$172 million] for regional social and economic development, and UAH 2.1 billion [$77 million] for formation of infrastructure in the unified communities," he wrote on Facebook Dec 28.

Another UAH 1 billion ($36.7 million) will be channeled into rural medicine, the head of government said.

"Subventions are also envisaged for continuing the New Ukrainian School reform, implementation of health care reform, acquisition of angiographs, support for farming, as well as construction and reconstruction of Sports Palaces," he added.
