Average monthly nominal wage on rise in Ukraine in November

On the average, a full-time employee in Ukraine received about US$330 per month.

The average monthly nominal wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine in November 2018 increased by 22.5% year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 9,161, or about US$330.

At the same time, the average wage in November 2018 decreased by 0.6% from October 2018, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said.

Real wages in November 2018 compared to the same month in 2017 increased by 11.4%.

The State Statistics Service notes that the average nominal wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine in November 2018 was almost 2.5 times higher than the minimum wage in 2018, which was UAH 3,723, or US$134 a month.

As UNIAN reported, the minimum wage in Ukraine increased on January 1, 2019, to UAH 4,173 (about US$150) from UAH 3,723 US$134. The National Bank expects a slowdown in wage growth in Ukraine, forecasting an increase in nominal wages by 16% in 2019 and by 10% in 2020, or by 7% and 5% in real, terms respectively.
