Ukraine's state-run military-industrial Concern Ukroboronprom in 2018 transferred 50 aircraft and helicopters to the Ukrainian Army, after their upgrade and repair performed by Ukraine's aviation industry cluster, which includes 16 enterprises, all part of the Concern.

"The list includes Su-27 and MiG-29 fighters, Su-25 attack aircraft, Su-24 strike aircraft, An-26 and Il-76 transport aircraft, L-39 training aircraft, as well as Mi-24, Mi-14, and Mi-8 helicopters," the Ukrainian online newspaper ZN.UA reported on January 2.

In particular, the State Enterprise "Lviv State Aircraft Repair Plant" in 2018 upgraded MiG-29 fighters to the MiG-29MU1 level. The aircraft were equipped with a powerful radar station, allowing an increased range of detection of airborne targets, as well as with the satellite navigation system, integrated into the onboard radio navigation system.

The SE "Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant 'Aviakon'" manufactured over fifteen Mi-24, Mi-14, and Mi-8 helicopters. In addition, the company transferred to the military a number of truly unique Mi-8MP copters designed to take part in electronic warfare. Special equipment allows interfering with and "blinding" ground-based radar stations, to disorganize the enemy.

Zaporizhia State Aircraft Repair Plant "Migremont" is upgrading Su-27 fighters and Su-25 attack aircraft, which received an additional 1M index. The aircraft are equipped with a new radar with a 30% increase in the range of detection of aerial targets, a new navigation system, as well as means of control, registration and processing of onboard parameters. The Su-27-1M is also capable of performing joint missions with Alliance forces.

Odesa Aviation Plant and Mykolaiv Aircraft Repair Plant "NARP" began modernization of Su-24 strike aircraft. The main task is to significantly expand the capabilities of this type of aircraft through modern digital systems and advanced onboard equipment.

Antonov State Enterprise in 2018 intensified the process of integration into the global aviation industry. The development of the An-188 short take-off and landing aircraft together with the Turkish partners became one of the first projects in this field.
