The new rates are effective under NCCR decision No. 488 of September 18, 2018, "On the approval of marginal tariffs for public telecommunications services and recognition of NCCR decision No. 606 dated November 28, 2017, invalid."

The Commission in September 2018 approved a two-phase rate increase for landlines back.

According to Ukraine's telecoms giant Ukrtelecom, the tariffs for urban households increased by 17% (by UAH 3-UAH 7/US$0.11-$0.26), while for rural customers by 18.8% (by UAH 3-UAH 7) as of November 2018.

As of January 1, 2019, the rates rose by 9% (by UAH 2-UAH 5/$0.07-$0.18) for urban customers and legal entities, by 12% (UAH 3-UAH 6/$0.11-$0.22) for rural legal entities, by 14.7% (UAH 3-UAH 7/$0.11-$0.26) for budget institutions, and by 18.7% (UAH 4-UAH 9/$0.15-$0.33) for rural customers, depending on the type of connection (separate line, paired line, hourly or without hourly charging, etc.)

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrtelecom in the summer of 2018 asked the NCCR to consider an increase in landline tariffs by 14% from November 2018 and by another 10% from January 2019 due to growing costs of service.
