Many citizens also mention growing tariffs, unemployment and corruption.
Ukrainians are most concerned about the war in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, and low incomes, according to findings of a recent public opinion poll presented at a press conference in Kyiv on January 3.

"Ukrainians are now most concerned about the military conflict in the east of Ukraine (58% of the respondents), the low level of wages and pensions (57%), an increase in utilities tariffs (52%), staples price hikes and inflation (35.9%), unemployment, and lack of work (25.2%), bribery and corruption in authorities (23.3%), as well as inability to obtain high-quality medical care (17%)," a press release says, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
At the same time, the share of those who supported martial law in Ukraine was 24.9%, while 64.8% of respondents were against it. The Ukrainians who think that the introduction of martial law helped to resolve the situation in Donbas accounted for a mere 14.1%. Other respondents (71.9%) expressed the opposite opinion.
According to the findings of the poll, the overwhelming majority of respondents (78.2%) said that the imposition of martial law in Ukraine in no way had affected their desire to vote in the 2019 presidential election.
The poll was conducted on December 16-22, 2018, jointly by the Social Monitoring Center and the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after O.Yaremenko. The survey was held across Ukraine (except for the temporarily occupied territories in Luhansk and Donetsk regions, and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea). The sample population is represented by age (18 and older), gender, type of settlement, and region. Some 2,045 respondents were interviewed. The margin of error does not exceed 2.2%. The level of respondents' cooperation is 57%. They were interviewed at places of their residence (face-to-face).
