Ukrgazvydobuvannya boosts gas output to almost 15.5 bcm in 2018

The company has achieved a record high indicator over 25 years.

Ukraine's largest state-owned gas producer Ukrgazvydobuvannya in 2018 boosted natural gas production by 1.6% from 2017, to 15.496 billion cubic meters (bcm).

"According to recent data, the production of Ukrgazvydobuvannya in 2018 was 15.496 bcm of natural gas, which was a record annual production of gas over the past 25 years. In January-December 2018, a natural production decline by about 950 million cubic meters [mcm] was compensated, and annual output was 246 mcm up from last year," the company's press service said in a statement on January 3.

In December 2018, the company's average daily gas output was 43.7 mcm, which was almost 1.3 mcm up year-over-year (y-o-y), the report said.

It is noted that the enterprise in 2018 increased the number of production intensification operations to 744. Moreover, 97 wells were drilled in 2018. At the same time, 69 new wells were put into operation.

However, most of the company's fields, which provide 95% of gas, are depleted by 87%, it said.

Noteworthy, Ukrgazvydobuvannya increased gas output by 4.8%, to 15.25 bcm in 2017.

UNIAN memo. Ukrgazvydobuvannya is Ukraine's largest gas producer, holding a 70% share in the total volume of the country's hydrocarbon production. It is wholly owned by national oil and gas holding Naftogaz of Ukraine.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in general, Ukraine increased gas production to almost 21 bcm in 2018.
