Lviv Airport resumes work after Turkish Airlines incident

Flights to Turkey, Poland, Germany, Italy, Egypt, and Britain were delayed.

Lviv Danylo Halytskyi International Airport has resumed work after a Turkish Airlines incident on Sunday, January 6.

"The aircraft of Turkish Airlines was towed to the apron. An investigation is being conducted and the causes of the incident are being investigated. The relevant departments of the airport are clearing the runway. Passenger check-in has begun. Flights will be operated as soon as planes ready to depart," the airport's press service said on Facebook on January 6.

The press service said that it would additionally inform about the causes of the incident.

As was reported, Lviv Airport delayed several flights after a Turkish Airlines passenger plane skidded off the runway at 08:30 GMT on January 6 while preparing for takeoff for Istanbul.

Flights to Turkey, Poland, Germany, Italy, Egypt, and Britain were delayed.

"None of the 59 passengers and six crew members on board the aircraft were injured as a result of the incident," the airport said. The plane was not significantly damaged.
