Naftogaz pays US$4.87 bln to Ukraine's budget in 2018

Naftogaz remains the biggest taxpayer in Ukraine.

The Naftogaz Group paid UAH 136.5 billion, or US$4.87 billion, in taxes and dividends to Ukraine's national budget in 2018.

Last year, Naftogaz's payments to the budget increased by more than 27% compared with 2017, the company said on its website.

This includes UAH 23.9 billion (US$853 million) in corporate tax, UAH 37.4 billion (US$1.33 billion) in value-added tax (VAT), UAH 28.5 billion (US$1.02 billion) in royalties, and UAH 29.5 billion (US$1.05 billion) in dividends.

Payments from the Naftogaz Group accounted for nearly 15% of total revenue of the national budget in 2018, compared with UAH 86.6 billion (US$3.09 billion) allocated from the budget for Ukraine's defense in 2017 and UAH 55.5 billion (US$1.98 billion) in gas subsidies for households covered by the budget.

Naftogaz develops oil and gas fields, produces crude oil and natural gas. Its core business is also transportation and trade in fuel through its own network of filling stations.
