Hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market on Thursday had slid to UAH 21.80/22.20 to the dollar by the close of the trading day, compared to UAH 16.90/17.10 at opening of trade, when the National Bank of Ukraine announced it was ending daily auctions in the currency market to determine an equilibrium exchange rate.
Some quotes for the hryvnia against the dollar on the interbank market, taking into account commission payments, reached UAH 25.20 to the dollar.
A broker at a commercial bank told UNIAN that trading on the market was active.
According to the source, the hryvnia quotes against the euro, without taking into account commission payments, closed at UAH 24.30/25.34, and against the Russian ruble they settled at UAH 0.3270/0.3330.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, the weighted average exchange rate of the hryvnia as of 1700 was UAH 21.6584 to the dollar, with 185 deals concluded by this time worth a total of $160.15 million.
